Jon has 20 years’ experience in-house as a children’s book editor, working across different age groups and genres. His first job, at Scholastic, involved desk editing Horrible Histories and other non-fiction.
Alan has written 100 books for children of all ages – from picture books to young adult thrillers. He writes in many different genres – comedy, mystery, sport, horror, school story to name but a few.
Pippa began her children’s book career as a bookseller and advisor to publishers before beginning to write books herself. She’s had over a hundred titles published, some of them award-winning.
Alex has had 12 children’s books published and has worked with a variety of editors and major publishing houses. Several of her books have been submitted as unsolicited manuscripts.
Eleanor has always loved stories, and is passionate about reading, writing and telling them. She has had nine novels for children published under her own name.
Brian is an award-winning children’s author. He has written twenty novels for young people which were published in the UK by Oxford University Press.
Daren has written since he was old enough to pick up a pen without putting it in his mouth. His first novel, Mouse Noses on Toast, won first prize in Nestle Children’s Book Prize.
Victoria has thirty years of experience in the writing world. She was a children’s book editor at Reed Elsevier (Methuen, Heinemann, Mammoth) before going freelance in 2000.
Haydn has written for a living since 1980. Haydn edited books for Oxford University Press before becoming a full-time writer.
Fay is the author of over 50 books for both adults and children. Much of her work draws on myth, the Arthurian legends.
Isabel has written more than 100 non-fiction and fiction titles for children and young adults – from picture books to encyclopaedias.
Val is the author of two books for children, The Time Wreccas and The Time Apprentice.
Philip is the author of The Other Book and The Liberators. The Liberators was a Children’s Book of the Year for 2010.
