The long, hot days are starting to wind down into a crisp September. Of course, if you live in the UK, there haven’t really been any “long hot days” to wind down. It’s almost as if you can already feel the promise of pumpkin spice lattes in the air and thick blankets in front of roaring fires.

For all of us—writers, authors, agents, and publishers—September is when things start to get a little chaotic. With getaways and beach days no longer serving as excuses, queriers are querying, and writers are writing with gusto. Maybe it’s the memories of the first day back at school, but there really is something about this month that gives us all a kick up the arse.

We’ve got a lot going on this month where you can put that fresh motivation to use.
