WHY

WHY

As Rudyard Kipling once put: “Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind.

I believe words are assuredly the most potent magic we possess, the most ardent alchemy. Words can elevate us, emancipate us, darken us, entertain, educate and enlighten, take us to new worlds and remind us of familiar ones. Words can be friends, they can be villains. Though they can blemish and wound, they can also heal beyond measure. They give birth to ideas and dreams, together with transit to traverse, eliciting thought and inspiring hope. They move you to joy, and to sorrow. They dance in light and desecrate in darkness. They are a valiant call to arms, they unite in colour, and are a sublime surrender. They are the map to adventure and journey unparalleled. Written with prosperity entwined in a tapestry of literature they take forth an even greater gifted potential, guided as an arrow, piercing as a laser. These words become my armour, my sword, my shield, my crown, my hand, my heart. This is why I write. This is why I am a writer.
