We’ve invited two favourite agents for a rare behind-the-scenes look at the industry. Bring your questions and discover what really happens on the road to publication.
Your writing deserves to be seen.
This March, join a month of live events, Q&As, and workshops designed to help you understand every route to publication, from traditional deals to self publishing and everything in between, so you can make informed choices and move forward with confidence.
Hear directly from industry professionals and bestselling authors, then put everything into practice at Meet Your Match, our exclusive online pitch event, where you can share your elevator pitch with top agents. The writer with the strongest pitch will win a free one to one session with the agent of their choice.
Join as a Premium Member to take part and unlock the full month of events and opportunities. You can get 10% off Premium Membership with the code GETPUBLISHED10 at checkout (only valid on pay-upfront and pay-monthly plans until 31 March).
Join our live online pitching event, exclusively for Premium Members.
Share a short elevator pitch and your genre in the dedicated forum (when it opens) on Townhouse, our online social platform, and our team will personally match you with a literary agent.
If you like your match, you can add them to your “To Query” list for your next round of submissions or book an Agent One-to-One session and have the opportunity to get personalised advice on your submission pack.
Agents will also be browsing pitches and may like or request submissions that catch their eye, giving you even more opportunities to get noticed.
You will be able to post your elevator pitch and genre in the dedicated forum ONLY between 8:00am, 31 March to 8:00am, 1 April (GMT).

We’ll be choosing our favourite pitch out of those submitted to win an Agent One-to-One session, so make sure to perfect it before you post. Remember, pitches should be short, snappy and make us want to know more.
During the Meet Your Match event, you’ll post your elevator pitch and genre in the dedicated event forum inside the Townhouse community. (You’ll need to create a free Townhouse account and have an active Premium Membership to take part.) Our team will review every pitch and personally match writers with a literary agent who suit their genre and project.
If you’re happy with your match, add the agent to your “to query” list or book an you’ll be invited to book an Agent One-to-One session to pitch your work directly. Agents will be browsing the pitches too — liking the ones that catch their eye and, if they’re interested, requesting submissions.
It’s a rare chance to get your work in front of the right people, fast.
Plus, we’ll be giving away a free Agent One-to-One to the writer behind our favourite pitch.
If you’re not yet a Premium Member and would like to join us, you can get 10% off Premium Membership with the code GETPUBLISHED10 at checkout (only valid on pay-upfront and pay-monthly plans until 31 March).
At the Meet Your Match Premium Member only event, each agent we pair you up with will have Agent One-to-One sessions available soon. These sessions are your chance to speak directly with literary agents from around the world and get their feedback on your submission pack. You can use your Agent One-to-One to get professional advice on the marketability of your book, or to test the water if you’re interested in submitting to them. If we don’t have an agent who specialises in your genre working on our Agent One-to-One service, we’ll share their AgentMatch profile instead, so you can add them to your list of agents to research.
Even better, Premium Members receive 10% off all Agent One-to-Ones, making it an accessible way to get professional, personalised guidance on your work.
Aside from the usual monthly online events available to Premium Members, we give you even more this March! We’ve lined up a wealth of live Q&As covering all your options in today’s publishing landscape, from traditional to self-publishing and everything in between, so you’ll come away with a clear plan of attack, armed with all the facts.
For those of you pursuing traditional publishing, we’ll also be hosting our quarterly Slushpile Live session, where we’ll review your query letters and help you polish them to submission standard.

For those of you looking to take the traditional route, our popular How to Get a Literary Agent course, walks you step by step through the submissions process. Led by bestselling author and Head of Membership at Jericho Writers, Becca Day, the course covers everything from refining your pitch and query letter to researching agents and sending out submissions with confidence.
Before you send out a single email, you need to be clear on your book’s place in the market. In this lesson, you’ll define your genre, understand where your book fits on the shelves, and decide whether querying agents or submitting directly to publishers is the right path for you.
Not all agents are the right fit for your book, and a scattergun approach won’t get you the best results. This lesson will guide you through researching and selecting the right agents for your work, creating a longlist and shortlist, and developing a strategic querying plan.
Your query letter is your first (and sometimes only) chance to hook an agent’s interest. In this lesson, Becca will take you through her own successful query letter, so that you can apply the same principles to your own.
Summarizing your entire novel in just a page or two is no easy task, but a strong synopsis can make all the difference. This lesson will break down what agents look for in a synopsis, how to balance plot clarity with emotional impact, and how to keep it engaging without getting bogged down in unnecessary details.
Rejections are an inevitable part of the process—but they don’t have to be the end of the road. This final lesson will teach you how to handle rejections productively, interpret agent feedback, and decide when to revise, requery, or pivot to other publishing options. You’ll leave with a clear plan for your next steps, whether that’s refining your submission package or exploring new opportunities.
Non-fiction submissions follow a different process from fiction, requiring a strong book proposal rather than a completed manuscript. In this bonus lesson, you’ll learn how to craft a compelling proposal for your non-fiction project.
When you join as a Premium Member, you’ll get full access to our library of self-paced video courses.
For those of you looking at self-publishing, each of these eight video lessons will take you through the process of considering and starting to self-publish your book, with key exercises to implement.
In this first module, we’ll look at what self-publishing is and isn’t, and start thinking about whether it’s something we might want to pursue for our own books.
We’ll look at finishing our manuscript professionally and taking our first steps towards publishing independently. We’ll cover how to define your genre and audience using searches on Amazon.
We’ll look at what makes a good cover in your genre and how to create a cover brief for a designer to create yours – whether that’s for an eBook, or paperback.
Self-publishing is more than just Amazon. In module four, we’ll look at the options available to you to get your book out there and the pros and cons of each.
How to set up your author brand and platform to start marketing. This includes everything from deciding on your author name, through to your website and mailing list.
We’ll look at how to write a book description or blurb that will find readers, and encourage them to click to buy your book.
You have your book ready to go – so how will you tell readers about it? We’ll look at building your launch plan and what you can do to kick-start your marketing.
We’ll follow the process of finishing and formatting your manuscript, and how to upload it to Amazon.
