Our annual pitching event Meet Your Match will take place on February 14 2024 at 14:00 until 16:00 GMT.
During the event, post your elevator pitch on Twitter/X using a hashtag for your genre and #JWMeetYourMatch. A member of our team will then match you with an agent. If you like the proposed match, you’re invited to book a One-to-One with that agent. We’ll also be giving away a free Agent One-to-One session to the author of our favourite pitch. Make sure to follow us over on Twitter/X and we’ll see you there.
At a Meet Your Match event, each agent we pair you up with will have Agent One-to-One sessions available soon. These sessions are your chance to speak directly with literary agents from around the world and get their feedback on your submission pack. You can use your Agent One-to-One to get professional advice on the marketability of your book, or to test the water if you’re interested in submitting to them.
We’ll be choosing our favourite pitch out of those submitted to win an Agent One-to-One session, so make sure to perfect it before you post. Remember, pitches should be short, snappy and make us want to know more.
Your Premium Membership gives you unlimited access to:
Post an elevator pitch to Twitter/X using the hashtag #JWMeetYourMatch between 2pm and 4pm GMT on Wednesday 14 February 2024, and we’ll match you with an agent who we think would be interested in your writing. If you like the match, why not book an Agent One-to-One session with that agent? Don’t forget to include your genre in the pitch (in full – no acronyms, please!) so we can find a suitable agent.
Take a look at our blog for some handy tips or stay tuned for more advice in our newsletter on Tuesday 13 February. In summary: keep it concise and focus on the very core of your plot or concept.
Don’t worry, you can schedule tweets in advance. Simply click the calendar and clock icon beneath your drafted post and select the time and date you would like it to be sent. Twitter/X will do the rest of the work for you! If you’re in another time zone (we’re based in the UK), you can use a time and date converter like https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html to make sure you’ve got your timings right.
As much we’d love to see everything you’ve been working on, we’re a small team and we don’t want to miss anyone out. If you have multiple pitches, we suggest you pick the one you would most like to be matched with an agent. Make sure you include the hashtag #JWMeetYourMatch so our team can find it.
No, but if you plan to book an Agent One-to-One session after being matched, you will need to submit a query letter, synopsis and first 5000 words of your manuscript for feedback. For more information, you can view our Agent One-to-One FAQs.
If you’re submitting poetry, screenplays, short stories or erotica, we might have trouble matching you with a suitable agent. Otherwise, submit away! Just be sure to clearly indicate the genre in your pitch – and avoid acronyms or abbreviations if you can, please.
It’s great to hear you’re already taking steps to boost your submission pack! You’re more than welcome to send your pitch to us for Meet Your Match, and add another name to your agent shortlist for future queries.
Of course! We work primarily with UK and US literary agents, but we’re happy to find a match for you, no matter where you are in the world. Just remember that we’re open to pitches from 14:00-16:00 GMT (UTC+0).
Sort of! We’ll be awarding the author of our favourite elevator pitch a free Agent One-to-One session which they can redeem with the agent of their choice. So make sure to read up on how to make your pitch as strong as possible – you can start here with our blog. Even if you don’t win, it’s worth taking part as you never know who might be watching…
If you missed the live pitch session, don’t worry, our full list of agents is available here. Simply use the Genres dropdown to filter the list, and make sure to read the full bios for more information about each agent’s wishlist. Take a look at our Agent One-to-One FAQs for more information.
