Haydn edited books for Oxford University Press before becoming a full-time writer. His seven literary-fantasy novels for adults range from The People in the Picture (called ‘an astonishing fictional debut’ by Anthony Clockwork Orange Burgess) to Grimm’s Last Fairytale (‘a modern fairytale that should last at least a hundred years’ according to USA’s Kirkus Reviews).
He has also written over a hundred books for children on primarily historical subjects, plus a number of cultural works for British Foreign Office Publications, and he has lectured on or taught creative writing in England, America, Greece and Australia.(Haydn’s Goodreads page shows a selection of his titles.)
He currently teaches creative writing for Stanford University’s Overseas Studies Program in Oxford.
