Elinor Davies - Editor
Elinor Davies began her publishing career as a Literary Agent’s Assistant and later Associate Agent at one of London’s leading literary agencies, Madeleine Milburn Agency, where she specialised in building a list of adult fiction ranging from commercial through to upmarket. Among the authors she was lucky enough to work closely with were Yomi Adegoke, Clare Pooley, Tracy Rees, Kirsty Greenwood and C. L. Miller.
Since then, Elinor has established herself as an editor and author mentor working with organisations such as Asian Women Writers, Literature Wales and various university creative writing courses to help authors shape their manuscripts and enter the agent querying process with confidence. She recently chaired the cohort selection process for the Representing Wales Mentorship Programme 2025 and regularly takes part in panels and workshops aimed at demystifying the querying process for authors. She holds a university degree in Publishing Media from Oxford Brookes University.

WHAT ELINOR SAYS ABOUT EDITING
There is nothing I find more fulfilling than helping aspiring writers take their manuscripts to the next level, whether they are in the early stages of developing their plot and characters, or finessing their querying documents ready to send to literary agents. With my background in agenting, I am well-equipped to help authors make their submission stand out and know exactly what an agent will be looking for. But I also have extensive experience of developmental editing which was a large part of my role as an agent too. I particularly enjoy helping authors figure out those puzzling plot points that don’t always come easily! My aim is always to help an author find their voice so they can tell the story they wish to tell and to give them confidence in their ability to tell it. I work across most genres of adult fiction and love the variety of stories I get to work on but I admit that I have a soft spot for crime, historical fiction, and any story that brings a touch of magical realism to the page.
