About Paul

Paul is an experienced and established writer and literary consultant who specialises in non-fiction. He has been published many times by Routledge, Kogan Page, Wiley and Profile Books (as The Economist). He writes frequently for magazines and professional publications as diverse as the Independent, Evening Standard, Maxim and Viz comic. He has also written for television. He has a novel nearing completion. As a reviewer, editor and teacher of creative writing, he has supported developing writers for many years. Paul has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Creative Writing.

Many of Paul’s clients have gone on to get published. Notable successes include Adeline Lim whose book, ‘In the Footsteps of Anne Lister’ went on to top the Amazon Travel books best seller list, Jamie Parker, author of the prescient ‘Painting Britain Blue: Why the Conservatives keep winning and how Labour have let them’, and Peace Ani with whom Paul has worked on several successful publications including ‘Brexit: the benefit of hindsight’ and ‘Nurturing Soft Skills: A Practical Guide for Developing Leadership and Financial Literacy Skills in Children’.

Why Paul loves mentoring

I use mentoring myself so I really understand how important the relationship is between mentor and mentee. We’ll build a safe space where we can work honestly together to meet your objectives. I have mentored scores of clients and know that each is different and unique. When we know your objective, we can build a plan to achieve it.

The creation of a book can be a big challenge. As a qualified counsellor, I can also bring some empathy to what can be a sometimes demanding process. I will help you to progress your project, whatever it may be, but I will also help you to develop as a writer with a writer’s mindset and discipline.

I get great reward from sharing the pleasure and release that can come from getting down on the page something that’s been stored inside for months or even years!

I have lots of experience across a huge range of non-fiction genres and I especially enjoy books about business and management.

Why we love Paul

At Jericho Writers, we’re a team of authors, just like you. Four of us are published by the Big 5, while others are deep in the writing process, honing our craft alongside the writers we support. We work with expert book coaches and carefully chosen mentors, selected for their ability to guide writers through every stage of their journey. It’s this approach that has helped countless authors launch their careers, sign with top literary agents, and even become Sunday Times Bestsellers.

As a qualified counsellor and writer who uses mentoring himself, Paul really understands and empathises with the process of writing a book. If you’re looking for an expert non-fiction mentor, you’re in the right place!
