Got a question about your Agent One-to-One session?


Our Agent One-to-One service connects authors with literary agents through a fifteen-minute phone call. During these sessions, authors can receive valuable feedback on their submission pack from agents representing a range of genres.

We’ve put together some quick troubleshooting tips and frequently asked questions to help you make the most of your session.

Having trouble with your session? Try these quick fixes, or contact us at 121@jerichowriters.com for help.

I can’t find my booking link. Your booking link was included in your confirmation email. If you’re having trouble tracking it down, get in touch with us by email.

I can’t book my session. If you’re experiencing an issue then let us know which agent and which time slot you would like to book.

I can’t upload my files. Check that your files are Word documents and follow the formatting instructions on your booking page. If you continue to experience issues, please send your files to us by email.

My agent didn’t ring me. Make sure you’ve turned off any active ‘do not disturb’ settings on your phone. We recommend allowing fifteen minutes of leeway in case of a delay. If you still have not received your call after this time, please get in touch.

I missed my session. Get in touch with us as soon as you can, and we’ll try to re-schedule the session. Although, please bear in mind this is dependent on the agent’s busy schedule.

What will my session involve?

Your one-to-one will consist of a fifteen-minute conversation with an industry professional. You will receive feedback on your query letter, synopsis, and the first 5,000 words of your manuscript.

How long will my session last?

One-to-one sessions last fifteen minutes.

When will my session take place?

After purchasing a session, use the booking link in your confirmation email to book a date and time with the agent of your choice. All times listed on the booking page are given in 24-hour UK time (GMT, UTC+0). Leave fifteen minutes of leeway to account for any delays in the agent’s schedule.

How will the agent contact me?

Your session will be held over the phone, using the number provided at checkout. If you will be unable to receive a phone call, please contact 121@jerichowriters.com at least one week before your session so that we can make suitable arrangements.

How can I check that my booking has been confirmed?

If your booking was successful, your booking page should show the time and date of your session. If this is not the case, please get in touch with 121@jerichowriters.com and let us know which session you would like to book.

What will I need to upload?

You will need to upload three separate Word documents: your query letter, your synopsis, and the first 5,000 words of your manuscript. You can upload these via your booking page. Files must be uploaded no later than one week before the session.

I’m an author of non-fiction/picture books and I don’t have a synopsis – what should I do?

Generally, agents will be happy to receive a book proposal or a second picture book manuscript in place of a synopsis. If you would rather leave this section blank, please let us know at 121@jerichowriters.com so we can ensure your files will still reach your chosen agent.

How can I change my phone number?

You will be contacted via the phone number provided at checkout. If you need to change this then let us know at 121@jerichowriters.com no later than one week before your session.

Can I change the date/time of my session?

We try to accommodate re-scheduling where possible, though this depends on the availability of your chosen agent. Please contact 121@jerichowriters.com so we can make arrangements.

How can I cancel my session?

Please email 121@jerichowriters.com no later than two weeks before your session. Depending on your preference, we can either issue a refund or leave your booking vacant until you are ready to book again. Since we need sufficient time to re-sell your session you will not be entitled to a refund or re-booking if you cancel after the two-week deadline.

Can I change the agent I have booked with?

Please email 121@jerichowriters.com and we can help you select a different agent. As with session cancellations, these requests must be made no later than two weeks before your booked session.

When will new sessions be made available?

New Agent One-to-One Sessions are routinely added to the website on the first Monday of the following months: April, August and December. We may release sessions outside these dates as and when agents express their availability to us. You can check the Agent One-to-One page for a list of agents participating in the service in a given season, or contact 121@jerichowriters.com if you would like to check the availability of a given agent prior to purchase.

I wasn’t happy with my session; what can I do?

We’re sorry to hear that. While we do not take responsibility for the opinions expressed by agents during these sessions, we hate to think of anyone left feeling disheartened. If something was particularly distressing, please email 121@jerichowriters.com so we can look into it.
