What Eliza says about Mentoring

As a mentor for writers for over a decade now, I take a personal and individualized approach. First, I like to get an understanding for where the writer is in their writing journey, and then read some samples to see what their style and level of craft is. From there, we’ll to tailor the mentorship based on the mentee’s story and writing needs. A nice balance between one-to-one chats and editorial evaluation is the best combination for success.

My favourite part of the writing process is watching an idea develop into a fully fleshed out, compelling narrative. And that extends to mentoring new writers, watching their ideas and dreams become realities and achievements. It’s a wild, wonderful ride I love to be a part of.

Nearly twenty years ago, I set out on my own writing journey with a dream of being published. I’ve got over eighty published novels under my belt now, awards, bestseller lists and a television option.
