Your assignment: Making it talk

Write a scene of about 300 words in which you or your characters are placed in a difficult situation, and show their response. It could be a moment of danger, or dispute or conflict, or revelation – anything that tests the characters and forces them to reveal themselves. Include dialogue – both direct and reported speech – that not only reveals character but also moves the story along.

When you’re ready,  share in the forum for peer-to-peer feedback and suggestions. Make sure you give feedback to others as well – the more you give, the more you’re likely to receive.

Once you’ve shared your work and given feedback on others, hit ‘mark complete.’
