Pitch Jericho Sponsored Entry

We’re offering a sponsored entry to the Pitch Jericho competition for underrepresented writers

Pitch Jericho Sponsored Entry

With thanks to author Vikki Patis, we’re offering a sponsored entry into our Pitch Jericho competition.

Fifteen shortlisted writers will read their work live in our online finale event on 31 May 2024 to a panel of agents.

The overall winner, chosen via audience poll during the event, will receive an Agent Submission Pack Review (worth up to £375) and one Agent One-to-One (worth up to £70).

Entry will also be accompanied by access to an elevator pitch Masterclass.

Upcoming Deadline

Applications for the sponsored entry close at midnight BST on Thursday 18 April.

We’ll be in touch with the chosen recipient of the sponsored entry by Friday 19 April.

The Pitch Jericho competition closes to entries on Monday 29 April.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the sponsored entry, you must:

  • Be able to submit your elevator pitch by the Pitch Jericho competition closing date on Monday 29 April.
  • Whilst you don’t need to have finished your book to apply for this opportunity. The competition will see fifteen shortlisted writers read their pitch in front of literary agents. Ideally, if an agent requested the writer’s submission (or full manuscript), the writer would have a manuscript that is ready to submit.
  • Not be represented by a literary agent or have been previously traditionally published. We want to help those who haven’t already taken a step on the publishing ladder.
  • Not be a Jericho Writers Premium Member. All our Premium Members are entitled to one free Pitch Jericho entry as part of their membership.
  • Be an under-represented writer.

We describe an under-represented writer as one or more of the following:

  • Having a low household income.
  • Being black, Asian or from a minority group.
  • Being disabled.
  • Being a primary carer.
  • Being an ex-offender.
