Hi!

My name is Susan Coupland (obviously).  I am an Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Staff Nurse and I work two different roles in that capacity.  I also have a third job working as an Academic Instructor at a University in Glasgow, Scotland.  I have two children, a boy and a girl, who are my world. What else to say about me?  I am mostly a quiet person, a bit shy really.  I love history to an embarrassing extent.  When a colleague asked me “Who came first?  The Vikings or the Romans?”  I definitely came out my shell through utter shock. 

I am fascinated by very early history (particularly 8th century Norse /British culture and the history of that era). I have written my first novel ‘Birth of the flame’ – you can read an excerpt file on my profile. I am working on my second book, as this story is a trilogy. I am also currently hunting for thee agent, which is a heartbreaking process, but I am nothing if not persistent!  I literally wrote my first book in three weeks, but have spent years tweaking it, (grammatically, and also in relation to dialogue, which sometimes involves more than four people…urgh).
