Seek no more, oh ye seekers of truth

Over the past couple of months, we’ve released two books: GETTING PUBLISHED and 52 LETTERS. Reader response to those books has been lovelier than a basket of white roses brought to you by a unicorn.

This week, we’ve released the third book in that trilogy. It’s called HOW TO WRITE, and it’s about – duh! – how to conceive, plan, write and edit your novel.

It’s a massively practical book. With lots of “how to” and “how very damn not to” examples taken from a huge variety of actual bestselling books. If the book doesn’t help you write better, I promise to eat my own leg in penance.

Now, as a way to celebrate the completion of the trilogy, and as a way to wave goodbye to the Summer Festival, for just a few days only, we’re making all the books as cheap as we can:

    1. Good question. I can’t/won’t buy digital books. I’ve recently bought 52 Letters, ostensibly for my husband as I had the benefit of all the emails as they came. But no, they’re just as entertaining and practical second-time round, so I’ve refused to hand it over.

  1. A cheeky question (and hopefully an honest answer): is the How to Write book basically an amalgamation of the online Jericho course you did? I ask because although the course was very insightful, I’ve done it and if the material is very repetitive I’m not sure I’ll get that much out of it. If that’s the case, I’d happily recommend it on a writers’ group I’m in, but I might save my dollar for a third of a glass of wine (OK, that sounds pathetic…a dollar does NOT go very far!). 

    1. It goes a lot deeper than the online courses. There’s a section on breaking down scenes that I’ve never encountered anywhere else in as much detail, which is worth the price of the book.

  2. Bought How to Write and Getting Published, in the hope that one day I will be! I don’t want a child named after me, though thanks. Maybe a bridge. Better still, a comic book character with a secret identity 😂

    1. I know an author who auctioned (for charity) the chance to feature as a character in one of her historical crime novels. The result was a wonderfully musical woman and all sorts of interesting bits about medieval music learning.
