My manuscript

I’ve completed a manuscript that may defy genres but probably fits into the thriller category and crosses over into literary or (recent) historical perhaps. Set in Memphis, Tennessee in the late 1980s, it follows a young out-of-his-element TV journalist who accidentally witnesses a brutal police incident. His reporting on it leads him to connect with a rock n roll legend (who did not die in 1977 but is still alive and living somewhat under the radar in Memphis) who may or may not be trying to help solve a mystery. The third point on this dramatic triangle is a beautiful Southern woman who falls in love with the reporter but is keeping an explosive secret. Together they face tragedy and redemption on the road to the Last Bridge To Memphis.

  1. Your premise sounds interesting but I think it needs a little more detail, particularly on the relationship between the 3 characters. Is the R&R legend trying to help the reporter? What is the mystery? You don’t have to spell it out, but it would help to know if it is connected with the police brutality the reporter is investigating. And, again, what is the explosive secret the Southern belle is keeping? Does it relate to the R&R legend? or to the police? It might help if you gave them names, too.
