Hello everyone. Just read all your posts and agree that you just need to keep plugging away. I pursued an acting career for a couple of decades and sometimes got the rejection first hand. At a drama school audition a woman told me that my Leontes had turned into Richard III (presumably because I’d ended up stooped over with nerves). She and her colleague had a good laugh about it and I left, quite clear that I wasn’t going to get in. They were right, though, on that occasion. I agree that it’s important not to take it personally. As Jean says, it’s the work not the person they’re rejecting – and, as Nik says, the volume of submissions makes it very challenging.
My main way of dealing with rejection is to send another submission.
