About Gavin<\/h2>

Gavin James Bower was born and grew up in Lancashire. He graduated with a degree in History from the University of Sheffield, before modelling for Herm\u00e8s and John Galliano in Paris and later working in London publishing, where he edited best-selling authors Anne Dickson, Brian Sewell and Allan Massie and commissioned Nikesh Shukla\u2019s \u2018Coconut Unlimited\u2019, which was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award.<\/p>\n

\u2018A novelist with the ability to cut through the hype and reveal the dark heart of everyday life,\u2019 according to the Independent, he is the author of two novels (\u2018Dazed & Aroused\u2019 and \u2018Made in Britain\u2019) and one nonfiction title (\u2018Claude Cahun: The Soldier with No Name\u2019) and his journalism has featured in the Guardian and the Sunday Telegraph. He joined EastEnders in 2014, writing five episodes.<\/p>\n
