Michele graduated first from the State University of New York College at Geneseo with a BA in English Language and Literature and later from New York University in 2002 with an MFA in Creative Writing.<\/p>\n

Michele joined the Book Club department of Scholastic in 1997 as an Editorial Assistant and was promoted through Assistant Editor and Assistant Promotions Manager to the rank of Manager by 2000. She then left Scholastic to be a Freelance Reader until 2003 when she joined Darhansoff & Versill Literary Agents as a Submissions Manager.
