After gaining a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford, Rachel pursued a first-class BA and a PGCE in English Language and Literature. She applied these degrees to two years of work as a secondary school English teacher, where she says her love of storytelling truly began. Following this, she spent a decade living in the UAE, where she worked as a copywriter and editor before deciding to write stories of her own. Her first book, The Case of the Exploding Loo<\/i>, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2014 and was followed by ‘The Case of the Exploding Brains’ in 2015.<\/p>\n
It was through being published that Rachel discovered her love of editing, and she began working as a freelance editor while writing her four-book Unicorn in New York<\/i> series from 2015 to 2019. After completing this series, she decided to make the move into agenting and began building her list at the Ben Illis Agency.
