Since beginning her publishing career in 1994, Rebecca has focused on nurturing novelists and non-fiction writers with fresh, compelling perspectives. She started as an assistant literary scout with Anne-Louise Fischer, where she was among the early international advocates for Arundhati Roy’s The God of Small Things<\/i>. As an editor at Random House from 1997 to 2012, she published debut fiction by authors who later achieved major careers, including Diana Evans, Xiaolu Guo and Erin Morgenstern.<\/p>\n
Moving into agenting in 2012, she expanded her list to include new fiction, crime and major non-fiction voices. Having worked on many sides of publishing (and grown up around the letterpress printing machines of her grandfather and father at the Rampant Lions Press), Rebecca has an ongoing fascination with the history and mechanics of the book industry, and what needs to happen for a writer and their book to achieve success.
