A New York native, Victoria Cappello was raised in Queens. She attended the City University of New York, Queens College, earning a degree in Media Studies; while there, she decided she would become a literary agent. She began her career by working with Regina Brooks at Serendipity Literary Agency, later moving to the Carol Mann Agency and reading manuscripts for Jenny Bent, of The Bent Agency, on the side.
