Barbara completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University, graduating with a BA in English Literature. This was followed a few years later by a Ph.D. in Art History and Archaeology from Columbia University; Barbara had previously worked as a museum curator, where she developed a love of art to accompany her love of literature. After finishing her MA programme, she worked as a book editor, a college lecturer, journalist, and art critic before founding her literary agency, Barbara Braun Associates, Inc. She lives in New York with her husband, John F.
