Bialer is from Teaneck, New Jersey. He studied English at Vassar College, at which point he thought he would become an academic. Instead, Bialer began to apply to publishers and ended up working at Curtis Brown, Ltd. in New York as the late CEO Perry Knowlton’s assistant. Bialer subsequently moved on to the William Morris Agency, where he got his start as a literary agent. He spent 14 years in that position before making the change to Sanford J. Greenburger Associates in 2003, where he has since been building a list that includes Jim Nesbitt, Patrick Rothfuss, Kris Saknussemm, and Tad Walliams. He has been in the publishing industry since 1985.<\/p>\n

He regularly attends the World Fantasy Convention and Thrillerfest.<\/p>\n
