Jenny Bent was raised in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and developed an enduring love of reading at an early age. She graduated from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, with a BA in English Literature (later maturing to an MA) and began her professional career by working in the Books and Fiction department of the American magazine Ladies’ Home Journal<\/i>. Deciding that she would become a literary agent, Jenny joined the Sagalyn Literary Agency in Washington, D. C., rising to the rank of Foreign Rights Manager. She continued her development as an agent at the Harvey Klinger Agency in New York City before moving on to Trident Media Group, where she served as Vice President for six years.
