Lisa Abellera completed an undergraduate degree in Strategic Management at the Dominican University of California before initially entering the world of business. She held various successful roles in the management, marketing, and financial sectors before deciding she would follow her lifelong passion of writing and reading. She returned to education, earning an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of San Francisco, and undertook two internships—one at an independent publishing house, the other at Kimberley Cameron & Associates. She also graduated from the Voices of Our Nation workshop for writers of colour in 2012.
