While there she sold her first two six figure deals. This coupled with her experience and formal education and training in the areas of Management, Social Services and Adult Education, Stacey brings a wealth of technical and professional experience to the literary world. Donaghy Literary Group opened in 2013 and to date, Stacey has sold a total of 10 six figure deals, as well as many other sales in a number of genres. Her client projects have been sold to a variety of Publishing Houses such as Harpercollins, Simon and Schuster, Hachette Book Group USA, Sourcebooks, Kensington, Entangled and others.<\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-weight: 700;\">What brought you to agenting? <\/span><\/div>\n<div><b><\/div>\n<div>I&#8217;ve always had an interest in working with writers but initially chose a different career path that in a roundabout way still kept me connected to writers. For years I worked closely with academics and writers of educational materials and while I enjoyed the process of editing and acquiring, it wasn&#8217;t quite where I wanted to be. I really wanted to work with writers who wrote fiction. A close friend and author heard of an opening at an agency and I jumped at the opportunity. That was over ten years ago and I still feel lucky every day that I get to work with talented writers. <\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><b>What is a day in the life of an agent like for you? <\/b><\/p>\n<p>This can vary depending on what might be happening on any given day but for the most part my day usually consists of responding to email, calls or meetings, reading industry daily&#8217;s, pitching projects a couple times per week, follow-ups, contract reviews and working on client manuscripts and queries.
