Rob graduated from Columbia University in 1991 with a BA in English and Art History; he had initially planned to major in Art History but after a 1989 internship at The Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut, under the archivist Gene Gaddis and working on a biography of the legendary museum director Chick Austin, Rob realised that he wanted to work in the publishing industry.<\/p>\n
Rob began his career at Warner Books (now Grand Central Publishing) under Jamie Raab, working with authors like Joe Klein, Lorrie Moore, Scott Turow, Ekaterina Gordieva and Nicolas Sparks. He left Warner Books to join Anchor Books\/Doubleday as an Editor, where he edited, acquired and worked on books by Anita Hill, Phillip Lopate, Lois Gould, and bestselling writer Jon Krakauer. Feeling more aligned with the interests of the authors than of the publishing houses, Rob became a Literary Agent at The Palmer & Dodge Agency (now Kneerim & Williams) under Jill Kneerim and Ike Williams before leaving to start his own agency in 2003, quickly taking on Maria Massie and Will Lippincott as Partners in 2004.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-936842","agent","type-agent","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
