Michael graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1972. Following a career in journalism and public relations, he started agenting in 1977 when he joined the Harold Matson Company. He left the agency in 1983 to establish Don Congdon Associates Inc. with his father Don, a revered agent who signed Ray Bradbury as one of his first clients. After Don passed away in 2009, Michael took over Ray Bradbury’s representation until the author’s death in 2012, notably masterminding the release of Fahrenheit 451 as an e-book. Michael is now Owner and President of the agency, in addition to being its Founder and one of its Literary Agents.<\/p>\n

Michael has been Literary Vice President of the AAR in the past and served on its Board of Directors.
