Kerry-Ann Bentley is a Jamaican-born literary agent whose transatlantic background – having lived in the Caribbean, the UK, and the U.S. – shapes the global perspective she brings to her work. She began her publishing career as an intern at Janklow & Nesbit Associates before joining the agency fulltime in 2020, working across both its New York and London offices and collaborating with acclaimed writers including Maggie Nelson, Olivia Laing, Kiese Laymon, Eileen Myles, Maurice Carlos Ruffin, Yrsa Daley-Ward, Plum Sykes, and Mason Coile. In 2023, she became a literary agent at The Good Literary Agency, where she built a list dedicated to supporting underrepresented and marginalised voices. Two years later, she founded KAB Literary (KABL) to champion exceptional writing talent from around the world and advocate for writers traditionally overlooked in publishing. Bentley has been invited to share her expertise at leading cultural institutions such as The Southbank Centre, City, University of London, The Black British Book Festival, and the National Centre for Writing.
