Jonathan graduated from Washington University, St Louis, in 1998 with a BA in History and Political Science and later from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, in 2001 with a Juris Doctorate in Intellectual Property.<\/p>\n
After briefly working as an Associate at the Law Offices of Mark E. Lorn, Jonathan began his career in publishing at Curtis Brown, Ltd. as a Literary Agent in 2002. He left in 2005 to work as a Legal Counsel, Agent, and Director of Subsidiary Rights at McIntosh & Otis Inc. until 2007 when he established and became President of Lyons Literary LLC, where he acted as a Publishing Attorney and Literary Agent. Jonathan returned to Curtis Brown in 2013 as Literary Agent and Director of Translation Rights, where he currently works.<\/p>\n
Alongside agenting, Jonathan is a current partner of Lyons and Salky Law, a legal firm, which he founded alongside Jessica Salky in 2016. He is also an adjunct professor at New York University’s Master of Science in Publishing Program, where he teaches a course on contract negotiation; between 2010 and 2012, he completed over 400 successful negotiations for his literary and legal clients.<\/p>\n
