Ali has a degree from York University in English Literature and Linguistics, as well as undertaking a Publishing Program at Ryerson University. She became a literary agent in 2009, when working at The Rights Factory. Through her work at 5 Otter Editorial, Ali consults with writers on creating marketable work, and the business of publishing, using her perspective as a literary agent.<\/p>\n
\nSpecializing in kidlit, her services include, First Look, Children’s Picture Book Evaluation, Career Coaching, Contract Review and Mentorship. She also leads workshops on Query Letter Writing, First Five Pages, and Publishing Contracts Overview, among others.
