Michaela graduated from Emory University in 2016 with a BA in English and Linguistics and completed the Columbia Publishing Course that same year. While studying for their degree, Michaela volunteered to be a Tutor at the Global Village Project in 2013, as part of Project SHINE, which aims to provide education for young female war refugees; they worked one-on-one with two girls on various English language skills. Other positions that Michaela occupied during their time at college include Copy Editor and Contributing Writer at The Emory Wheel, English Tutor at Emory University ESL, Communications Student Assistant at Emory University Libraries, Publicity Intern at Peachtree Publishers, Marketing and Editorial Intern at Myrick Marketing & Media LLC, and Manuscript Acquisitions Intern at Harvey Klinger Inc. They studied abroad at Queen Mary, University of London, in the fall of 2014.<\/p>\n
After graduating, Michaela completed an editorial internship at Tanglewood Publishing, then began their publishing career with two jobs; working as a Marketing Manager at Myrick Marketing & Media LLC, from 2016 to 2018, and as a Reader at the Andrea Brown Literary Agency, from 2016 to 2019. They became a Marketing Assistant for Special Projects at Chronicle Books in 2018 and were later promoted to School & Library Marketing Coordinator there.<\/p>\n
Michaela left in 2019 to join Dystel, Goderich & Bourret LLC as a Literary Agency Assistant to Michael Bourret, where they are also currently building their client list. In addition to their job at the agency, Michaela has been a part-time Bookseller at Chevalier’s Books since 2019.<\/p>\n
