Rachel Mills worked as the head of Peters, Fraser & Dunlop’s Foreign Rights Department, securing publishing contracts for PFD’s clients worldwide. She then moved onto Furniss and Lawton in 2016 in a dual role of literary agent and International Rights Director; representing fiction and non-fiction clients, generally those writing on global topics or upmarket fiction which will appeal to readers internationally. Prior to joining PFD, Rachel was Foreign Rights Manager for Penguin Books, where she worked for five years and before that she worked in the rights team at Ebury Publishing at Random House. Rachel handles rights in the United States, Canada, Australia, India (English language), Germany, The Netherlands, France, Brazil and Latin America.<\/p>\n
Her exceptional work as a rights agent was recognised in 2015 when Rachel won The Bookseller Industry Award for Rights Professional of the Year.<\/p>\n
Rachel has also worked as a freelance hotel critic with the Hotel Guru website, saying that she vastly prefers “individual and characterful” hotels over soulless business hotels.<\/p>\n
