Jim is a graduate of Amherst College, where he graduated as Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude; while there he also won the Woodrow Wilson, Fulbright, and Ford Foundation Fellowships. Jim holds two degrees in English Literature, with an emphasis on Shakespeare and modern literary criticism, from UC Berkeley; and a Doctorate specialising in child development and social policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education.<\/p>\n

Prior to beginning a career in publishing Jim taught at Wellesley College, he also spent ten years working as the Vice President for the Bank Street College of Education in New York City. While working as Vice President Jim developed a range of books, magazines, audios, videos, and software projects. <\/p>\n
