Sarah Davies has spent most of her life working as an editor in publishing houses, and has over 25 years’ experience of children’s fiction. Born in the UK, she started her career at Collins before moving on to Transworld\/Random House. In 1994, she joined Macmillan Children’s Books first as Fiction Editor and then Publisher Director. She was also a member of the Management Board. Throughout her career, Davies has published authors at the top of their field, such as Judy Blume, Meg Cabot, Philip Pullman, and Sharon Creech. She is an experienced speaker on the subject of children’s books, having given talks in America and Europe for the AAR and SCBWI. She also attends international book fairs and American writers’ conferences. <\/p>\n
In 2007, Davies moved to the USA to open her own literary agency outside Washington D.C. She says that she has ‘an unusually transatlantic view of the children’s book industry.’ <\/p>\n
