Christopher Little grew up in Yorkshire and began his working life in textiles in the then West Riding. In the early sixties he lived in Paris and then worked his way out to the Far East doing various jobs, finally arriving in Hong Kong in 1966 where he spent 9 years initially working in textiles and then in the sales of financial products, and trading, all of which involved extensive travel through Asia. Returning to the UK in 1975 he opened a London based recruitment \/ headhunting business supplying professionals to companies worldwide, and this continued into the 90’s. However, in 1979, and initially as a hobby, Christopher was persuaded by his long-time friend Philip Nicholson, pka A J Quinnell, to represent him as his literary agent for his first novel Man on Fire, and this was a great success. Representing creative writers became his passion, and in the early 90’s Christopher sold his headhunting business to concentrate on further expanding his literary agency full time. In 1995 he was approached by Joanne (J.K.) Rowling and was successful in placing her first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. He sold the UK rights to Bloomsbury in 1996, followed by the US rights to Scholastic, and the foreign rights to publishers around the world, resulting in the Harry Potter series being translated into 70 languages. Christopher represented J. K. Rowling until 2011. Christopher’s particular skill is building his authors’ careers on a global basis.
