Katherine is a poet and novelist. Her debut novel The Visitor was published by Welsh indie press Parthian in 2013. It combines two of her great loves: Cornwall and historical fiction.

Taking a sideways step into crime, Falling Creatures was published by Allison & Busby in 2017. The book explores a murder that took place on Bodmin Moor in 1844. The sequel, The Magpie Tree, is out in 2018, and Katherine is currently working on the third instalment, due for publication in 2019.
Katherine’s poems have been widely published in magazines and online, including as The Guardian’s ‘Poem of the Week’. Her first book of poems, Playing House, was published by Seren in 2014.
For several years she was a lecturer in Creative Writing at Aberystwyth University where she supervised Creative Writing MA and PhD students working on novels, books of short stories and poetry collections across a range of styles and themes. She now works as an Associate Lecturer for the Open University’s new MA in Creative Writing, and is a Writing Fellow on the MPhil Creative Writing at the University of South Wales. She is the Royal Literary Fund Fellow at Cardiff University, and a mentor for Literature Wales.
