Morwenna has nearly a decade’s experience as a commissioning editor at HarperCollins and Penguin Random House.

Morwenna’s worked with globally bestselling and award-winning authors such as Hilary Mantel, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Brené Brown, Marie Kondo, Tim Ferriss, Edward de Bono, Nigel Slater and Max Hastings.

Her focus is predominantly on non-fiction – ranging across personal development, memoir, business and cookery to psychology and true-crime – as well as some literary fiction, thrown in for good measure. Morwenna is also a literary agent and regularly participates in ‘Agent’s Table’ discussions, giving one-to-one manuscript feedback to authors.

Morwenna is also an experienced podcast host and editor, with an MA in Acting from Drama Centre London and a 1st Class MA in Philosophy and English Literature from Trinity College Dublin.

What Morwenna says about editing

Publishing can be an opaque, intimidating and esoteric business; I want to help demystify it. I strongly believe that an emphasis on developing ideas and spotting potential is key to opening up and diversifying the industry. The best ideas don’t always arrive fully formed, and I’m committed to working with authors collaboratively to identify and develop their ‘Voice’ and shape their ideas. Whether this is through a manuscript assessment, or a full line-edit, I’m keen to help.

I’m particularly passionate about books and authors who can inspire readers to think differently about the world that we live in, whether that’s through an incredible memoir that challenges an accepted narrative, or a work of topical fiction that gets people talking. One of the books that I’m proudest of publishing is Body Positive Power by the incredible Megan Jayne Crabbe (674 5*Amazon reviews and counting).
