Join Stamford University Creative Writing Lecturer, Tes Noah Asfaw, for another in this regular series of ‘Tes Talks’ webinars.
Tes will take examples from contemporary classics and pull them apart to see how they work. He’ll also hand-pick a couple of examples from member’s work each month to workshop live in this webinar.
This month, Tes asks how can creative engaging, enthralling dialogue that reveals character, drives story and relays exposition. There’s lots to learn in this one, so get those notebooks ready!

Tes is a lecturer at Stanford University, Oxford Program. He teaches Stanford undergraduates on placement at the University of Oxford. His courses range from creative writing (fiction, non-fiction, screen, stage) to critical analysis and film studies.

Will I have to read out my own work during the Conversation?
No, Tes will read your work or show it on screen.
Will I be able to ask questions?
Yes. We’ll leave time at the end of the session for you to type questions to ask Tes. We’ll try to cover as many as we can.
Will I need a webcam to join the Conversation?
No. All you’ll need is an internet connection and something to watch with. You’ll be able to see us, but we won’t be able to see you. You’ll be able to engage with Tes via typed message.
How do I submit work for feedback?
Click the ‘Submit your work’ link above and follow the submission guidelines once you have registered for the webinar.
Will my work be picked for feedback?
Tes will be hand-picking examples he thinks will generate the most useful discussion. He might only be able to get to one or two each month, but the discussion will be useful to all writers, whether or not their work is chosen.
